Swiss Trader Trafigura to Pay $55 Million to Settle CFTC Charges

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission ordered a unit of a trading group to pay $55 million to settle civil charges related to defrauding counterparties and harming other market participants. The CFTC issued an order on Monday, simultaneously filing and settling the charges against a subsidiary of the corporation. The company neither admitted nor denied the alleged wrongdoing.
